We the undersigned petition Westminster City Council to lower the pavement on both sides of Wesley Street to be accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. More details

Petition update from the council, 14 November 2016

I refer to your petition in regard to the lack of dropped crossings for pushchairs and wheelchair users in Wesley Street. I can advise you that your issue has been noted. Unfortunately there are other locations within Westminster which require this type of treatment. In view of the City Council’s limited resources this location has, therefore, been added to the list of sites at which dropped crossings would be beneficial. Its progression will be subject to priority and funding.

Regards.

Roger.

More details from petition creator

Currently, the pavement on Wesley Street (where it meets Weymouth Street) has high edges on both sides. I have witnessed wheelchair users having trouble with this, and my own experience with a child's pushchair has shown that this pavement is both difficult and unusual in Westminster.
