We the undersigned petition Westminster City Council to Change single yellow line to double yellow line of South Street and the Beginning of Park Street Mayfair (Until Mount street Intersection). More details

Petition update from the council, 14 November 2016

I refer to your petition regarding changing the single yellow lines in Park Street to double yellow lines.

Park Street is a one-way street with some lengths of Park Street having parking on both sides of the road during the day. It is considered that this southern section of Park Street is wide enough to accommodate the current evening / night-time traffic movements in Park Street whilst still providing the necessary amount of parking for the area at those times. It is therefore not currently proposed to modify the single yellow line controls in Park Street.

I appreciate that this is not the answer that you were hoping for, however thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns with the City Council.

Regards.

Roger.

More details from petition creator

During evening times and on weekends the road becomes very narrow due to cars parked normally in residential bays and the cars which are parked on single yellow lines. Although the cars which are parked on single yellow lines are legally parked at those times the vehicles parked on single yellow lines are causing problems especially on the weekends. It is making very difficult for SUV's, commercial vehicles and for small cars to pass without causing any damages to surrounding vehicles. In November 2015 my vehicle was parked in a residential bay and due to cars which were parked on the single yellow line a vehicle pierced the side of my car causing £5000 in damages.
