More details from petition creator

St. Ann's Terrace has a high density of residential properties and may be the highest in the immediate area.

The absence of effective traffic calming measures severely prejudices the quality of the environment, and exposes residents and users to higher risks than are reasonable.

Residents have profound concerns regarding the excessive speed of some vehicles using the road particularly at weekends, early morning and late evening, and also the use of the road by trucks above 7.5 tons which are banned.

The noise emanating from individual vehicles accelerating along the road can be frightening and especially so to children and the elderly, and more generally constitutes a profound nuisance. Vehicles not observing the speed limit obviously are a potential danger to all residents and pedestrians in the road.
