More details from petition creator

It is evident that many people in North Westminster are full of uncertainty and anxiety about the proposed plans for HS2 locally, and are in principle opposed to the Government's HS2 project nationally on economic and environmental grounds. They are also opposed to the proposed route under homes (as contrasted to under adjacent existing railway lines) and the placement of a secure area vent in the heart of our community - a site marked for regeneration.

It is clear that HS2 does not meet the guidelines set out by London Councils for High Speed Rail. There are no obvious benefits to the City of Westminster.

We therefore urge the City of Westminster to support North Westminster and oppose HS2.
