This is the only African and Caribbean Organisation functioning for the over 60's age group in the Westminster community.

We are mindful of the Council's present financial restraints, which has been placed by Central Government. Nevertheless, Dutch Pot was bracing itself for a cut in its grant, but not the total discontinuation of its grant aid from the Council.

Dutch Pot has already adopted the government's Big Society idea with its voluntary contribution in social care workers and its voluntary management to both those attending the 2 days a week luncheon and social club and the housebound in our community.

We are appealing to policy makers to replace the 100% cut of the grant to 80% in line with cuts made by central government on Local Councils.

Dutch Pot Lunch and Social Club will endeavour to find the 20% from within the Minority Ethnic Community in Westminster.
