Petition update from the council, 28 September 2015

Dear Mr Ozersin

PETITION: REQUEST TO CHANGE SINGLE YELLOW LINES TO DOUBLE, PARK STREET W1

I refer to your petition regarding changing the single yellow line on the east side of Park Street to a double yellow line.

Park Street is a one-way street with some lengths of Park Street having parking on both sides of the road during the day. The southernmost section of Park Street has permitted parking on the west side and a single yellow line on the east side. It is considered that this southern section of Park Street is wide enough to accommodate the current evening / night-time traffic movements in Park Street whilst still providing the necessary amount of parking for the area at those times. It is therefore not currently proposed to modify the single yellow line controls on the first 50m of Park Street.

I appreciate that this is not the answer that you were hoping for, however thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns with the City Council.

Yours sincerely

STUART LOVE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (CITY MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNITIES)

More details from petition creator

the purpose of this petition is that some cars which are parked on resident parking bay are being damaged by cars passing by, this is because in the evenings and on weekends other cars park on the single yellow line which causes the road to become extremely narrow.
